Day excursion to Annecy |

Monday June, 11th (8am – 7:30pm)
Departure from Lyon by coach to Hautecombe Abbey, overlooking Lake Bourget.
Then in Annecy, you will be able to appreciate the charms of the lake and discover its ports and villages.
In the early afternoon, you will be taken on a guided tour of Annecy's old city. Nestled between lakes and mountains, Annecy-le-Vieux has kept the peaceful charm of a village, thanks to its natural setting combining tranquillity and lush greenery. After the visit you will have some free time to stroll through Annecy's streets and do some shopping.

Tuesday June, 12th (8:30pm – 11:30pm)
This tour relates 2000 years of history covering an area of 500 hectares offering a remarkable palette of ancient monuments from the past to present day.
From the hill of Fourviere, the Roman Lugdunum and birthplace of our city, the panorama offers a great view of modern Lyon. You will visit, by coach, the city of Lyon, and stop to have a walk around different areas. Walking along the Saône’s river bank, you will enter the medieval and Renaissance district (Vieux Lyon). Fortunately, its rich Renaissance architecture was preserved throughout the years.
The Classical period is represented on the «Presqu’île» (peninsula) where many «Hôtel Particuliers», private homes dating back from the 17th and 18th centuries are located. During the 19th century, the silk industry settled on the hill of the Croix-Rousse which stretches from the Place des Terreaux to the old city remparts.

CONDITIONS GOVERNING EXCURSIONS
• Coach transport is laid on for all excursions unless otherwise specified.
• All tours will be accompanied by a bilingual guide (French/English).
• Bookings will be taken in order of requests submitted by registration form and accompanied by full payment. We recommend early booking before May 31th 2007, since there is no guarantee for on-the-spot bookings.
• Times are given by way of indication only. They will be confirmed on the opening day of the congress.
• The organisers reserve the right to cancel any excursion which receives bookings for fewer people than the minimum number specified. In this event, the amounts paid by persons registered for such excursions shall be reimbursed in full or a replacement programme will be proposed where possible. |
